The super fast high speed trains operate at jaw dropping speeds. Let’s check out which of them actually are the 10 super fast trains around the globe.

High-speed rail (HSR) is a type of passenger rail transport that operates significantly faster than traditional rail traffic. High speed trains travel at their maximum speed on specific tracks. As of 2012 the maximum speeds include 310 km/h (195 mph) in Spain and 320 km/h (200 mph) in France. The Shanghai Maglev Train reaches 431 km/h (268 mph).

The world speed record for conventional high-speed rail is held by the V150, a specially configured and heavily-modified version of Alstom's TGV which clocked 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph) on a test run. The world speed record for Maglev is held by the Japanese experimental MLX01: 581 km/h (361 mph).

Here we list the 10 super fast record holder trains (trail runs).

1)Japan's JR Manglev or MLX01 is the current world record holder for the maximum speed of 581 Km/hr (361 mph). It's a magnetic levitation train system.

2)France TGV or V150 is the world record holder for conventional rails with the maximum speed achieved of 574.8 Km/hr (357 mph).

3)Siemens Transrapid is a German high speed monorail train using magnetic levitation. It has achieved the maximum speed of 501 Km/hr (311 mph).

4)The CRH3 is a version of the Siemens Velaro high-speed train used in China. It has achieved the maximum speed of 487.3 Km/hr (303 mph).

5)The AVE Class 103 is a series of AVE high speed trains for the Spanish state-run railway company RENFE.It has achieved the maximum speed of 404 Km/hr (251 mph).

6)The THSR 700T is high-speed electric multiple unit trainset derived from the Japanese Shinkansen family for Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR), Taiwan's high-speed rail line.It has achieved the maximum speed of 350 Km/hr (217 mph).

7)The Intercity Experimental, later renamed ICE V, was an experimental train for research into high-speed rail.It has achieved the maximum speed of 324 Km/hr (201 mph).

8)China Star (DJJ2) is an indigenously designed experimental high-speed train manufactured in China. It has achieved the maximum speed of 321 Km/hr (199 mph).

9)ETR 500 (Elettro Treno Rapido 500) is a family of Italian high-speed trains introduced in 1993.It has achieved the maximum speed of 319 Km/hr (198 mph).

10)The ER200 was a Soviet electric train built in Riga by Rīgas Vagonbūves Rūpnīca. It was the first high-speed Direct Current intercity Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) with rheostatic brake. It has achieved the maximum speed of 210 Km/hr (130 mph).

Japan’s Maglev trains, the French TGV family, Chinese CRH3 family are top multiple world-speed-record holders.
